Ski Homewood rises dramatically from Lake Tahoe's shores. You'll ski and ride on 100 runs - 50 of them marked with blue squares - along a vertical of 1,650 feet. The elevation at the summit is almost 8,000 feet. You will find lots of "local" riders at Homewood and some excellent snowboarding instruction. ActivitiesSnowboarding: Snowboarding is allowed on all open trails including several terrain parks. Rentals and lessons are available on-site.LodgingA variety of lodges, hotels, motels, inns, and private rentals are all within driving distance of the ski area. Some properties offer ski and stay packages; call ahead for information.Winter RecreationThe west shore of Lake Tahoe offers great dining after a day on the slopes.

Best Views at Tahoe

Without a doubt, Homewood offers the best views of the lake in all of the Tahoe Basin. When you ski the face you feel as if you might actually fall in the lake itself as Homewood sit right on top of Lake Tahoe. The tree skiing is perfect if you are just learning to maneuver in the trees, and the day lodge up top has a real rustic atmosphere while providing probably the friendliest service of any resort.
