Gunstock's tradition of family skiing began during 1937, when the first snowtrains arrived at Laconia. Gunstock has grown into a high quality ski area, still catering to families, mostly from the Boston area, and offers one of the region's largest night-skiing operations. ActivitiesSnowboarding: Snowboarding is allowed with a terrain park and halfpipe available. Various contests take place throughout the season.Cross Country Profile: Over 50 kilometers of trails for all levels of skiers along with telemark and backcountry tours. Learn-to-Ski packages available. Rental shops containing modern skis, boots, and poles.LodgingNo accommodations are available on site. 18 motels with 1,000 beds located within a 15-minute drive.Winter RecreationCross country skiing, night skiing/riding, snowshoeing, ice skating, ice fishing, movies, sledding, snowmobiling, and swimming nearby. Area has four FIS-approved ski jumps, snowboarding halfpipe, and tubing park.

Gunstock is a great place to ride. The staff is wonderful and the people are great. It can get crowded on vacation weeks but when it's not busy ,Gunstock is a perfect for riding.

Great place to ski and ride

I have no idea what "downandout" is talking about and agree with Scott. I have been going there for 4 years with my sons. I have never had anything stolen, nor any problems. If you are concerned, you can do as Scott says-Use the free bag check and the free ski check--with regard to GPS, lock your car or conceal it in your glove box. Great place to ski, great snow making and great night skiing. Enjoy!

Good skiing in a great environment

I have had season passes for a couple of years and really like Gunstock. It has great night skiing, so you can ski early in the day, leave for an early dinner, then come back and finish out with some great night skiing. It is a fun place to ski with a nice variety of winding trails and cruisers. The atmosphere is a bit more casual than some of the larger resorts, and you can get some great deals-- the early buyer's deal for their season pass cannot be beat. The staff do a good job managing lift lines and keeping the mountain groomed. As for the other reviewer complaining about thefts-- I have never had anything stolen. Furthermore, Gunstock offers free bag and ski check, so you do not have leave your personal items unattended if you don't want to.

Haven for Thieves

We had our brand new GPS stolen from car. Others have told us skis and apparel are stolen every hour. There is limited to no secuirty. It is overrun by petty thiefs and outright thugs. Stay away. Too many other family friendly places in NH to chance and waste money here.
