It was top vacation time, but ticket line took an hour, then equipment line took more than an hour, then lifts were crowded, slopes were packed, and lodge was dangerously crowded. Diamond Peak still is a great place for skiing. It is NOT designed to handle huge crowds.
....and have season passes. Just enough advanced terrain to challenge all but the top experts, (solditude canyon), and plenty of medium to challenging rec skiing. Family ethos and frendliness, and excellent prices for Tahoe area.Beautiful views of the lake both from the snowflake lodge, and the runs. What's not to like?
We got a really good rental deal on a hip condo within walking distance to the resort. I thought it perfect to leave the equip. and walk to ski each day at the crack of noon. Blue Bird days every day we skied. True to my memories, the staff there in the rental shop gladly allowed us to stash our gear in their ski repair shop. For the entire week. Such is the home spun service of this wonderful resort. Although we had a full kitchen, we feel in love with the food and view of 5 star Lake Side restaurant in Incline Village Twice it beckoned us to dine with their opulent booths with that great floor to ceiling glass vista of Carnelian Bay at sunset. So romantic 'y'all. A definite do over spot.
