The best way to describe life at the Balsams Wilderness is to say that, once you register, everything you want to do here is included in your tab. This is a full American plan resort. The meals are incredible. The vertical is 1,000 feet and the skiing and riding are fun. The reason to come here, however, is for the entire experience. Yes, this is the Dixville Notch, where the first Presidential election votes are tallied.ActivitiesSnowboarding: Snowboarding allowed including one terrain park and a halfpipe. Instruction and rental equipment available.Cross Country Profile: 95 kilometers of cross country and 85k of tracked and groomed trails with touring and snowshoeing avilable.Lodging232 room hotel adjacent to the ski area. Shuttle bus available.Winter RecreationCross country ski and touring, ice skating, movies, sledding, telemarking, 5 gladed areas, groomed snowmobile trails, NASTAR racing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing.
