The Roaring Fork Valley is absolutely the most beautiful place that I have ever been. I spent 18 years in the valley but it finally got to be too expensive and, regretfully, I had to depart. I now reside in southern Oregon. It does not compare. I will forever cherish my memories of the days spent amongst the high peaks and deep forests, the colors of the fall and the blooms of the spring. From complete whiteouts to the most brilliant sunshine, from gale force winds to such calm that a dandelion seed would not fly. From night so black to moonlight to read a newspaper by. From such an intrusive din of the masses to the deafening silence of the wilderness. There is truly no place like home.

The premiere event in Veteran Rehab. is the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic. Over 400 Disabled Veterans participate in winter sports at Snowmass and it changes their lives to remind them that life is not over when you acquire a disability. Skiers with one leg, no legs, paralyzed,TBI, Visually challenged, and everything in between, who acquired their disability while in service to our country all meet to celebrate the rehabilitation of our most currently disabled participants, and guide them to success in winter activities. Snowmass and Snowmass village has supported us every year. We will be there March 26-April 2 2011...Join us!

Spent a week with fellow ski buds -stayed in Basalt - hit up all 4 resorts - Snowmass 2 x over the course of 6 days. Used VRBO.com to find house in Basalt - 20 minutes to resorts-cheaper than Aspen. Ski rental place in town way cheaper then anywhere else slopeside. Aspen Highlands was a blast and all new base area makes it really convienant for parking/dressing/eating. Got lift tix on WorkingAdvantage.com which you can join at no cost - all 4 resorts use same radio freq. lift tix - make sure u only have one in you pocket at a time - leave the rest home as they may get activated on same day if u go thru with all in pocket . Aspen only has street parking in town at $11. per 4 hours - but u can get close to Gondola entrance - bottom left of stairs to Gondola is small locker/bathroom area. Best Gondola use on cold days. Aspen brewery in town - otherwise very expensive - nothing remarkable unless u have $100,000. + for art/glass work. Recommend Snowmass or Buttermilk (woods) as initail warmup days - then Highlands/Aspen. Great ski trip for max exposure to varying slopes/trails
