The location is great. The rooms are old 50's style with no amenities. It is a $38.00 room there selling for $92.00 per night with no telephone, TV etc.
If you can spend an addtional 20 minutes riding, get off the Parkway and get a good room at a reasnable rate.

It is a perfect place to reconnect with nature and your family. It is so peaceful to relax. The trails are fun for adults and kids to reconnect with each other and learn about history.

My family has traveled to the peaks for the last 30 years. It is my parents favorite destination. It will be where they spend eternity. Unfortunately they won't stay at the lodge as much as they used to. The service, food and friendliness have changed since the buy out a couple of years back. Most of the staff have been replaced and that is a bad thing in this case. They were the heart and sole of the place.
