  • Great Place for Romance

The rooms are really small though so if you are looking for a large room you might try somewhere else. The restaurant is the highest in town but worth it. Very small beds as well.

  • once was enough
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/06
The location was beautifully scenic, although the signage was not very good and it was not easy to find. We were told we would have a queen size bed. It was not. It was a full size which is narrower and shorter. Although the room was nicely decorated, the question is, "are you a quaint, b&b type or do you like space?" We like space ...

  • WOW!

My husband suprised me with a stay at the lodge in august of 2004. We had visited the lodge in February of 2004 for a day of sightseeing and I fell in love with the place. There is a tower that you can climb a long staircase to see a view of the area. In the tower are names scratched into the woodwork from long ago. Judy Garland and Clark Gable put ...

  • We've Been to Heaven
    By gnatjam, 07/28/05
This hotel nestled in the mountains in New Mexico was beautiful, charming and a bit haunting! We loved it. The restaurant, named for the hotel's ghostly resident, Rebecca is good and we most enjoyed watching the sunset from our table. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The golf range is very unusual and remember, don't feed the bears while golfing! *hehe*

  • Better than imagined
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/15/05
When we arrived at this mountaintop paradise after dark we were most surprised. The website does not begin to cover the beauty of the area and the hotel. The front desk cleck greeted us as if shw were welcoming us into her home. The room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed.
We left early in the morning for a day trip to Carlsbad ...
