My friend and I went for a wkend shopping trip and thought it would be convenient to stay here since it's connected to the Galleria mall. It was, but this place charges for every little thing. $1.00 for calling the front desk, and if you TOUCH the mini bar you are automatically billed. I don't mean open it and take something out, I mean ...

No gift & magazine shop - so if you arrive late & the Mall next door is closed, you cannot get small codiments. Somewhat overpriced. Rooms are comfortable, but nothing great.Food was OK.

Cloud-beds!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/10/07
I absolutely love going to the Wynfrey! My mom and I stay there when we have serious shopping to do. It's so convenient to just drop your bags off in the room, and go some more! Their beds are SO comfortable! It's like sleeping on a cloud! The Wynfrey even smells luxurious! I can't explain it, but no other place smells as good as the Wynfrey!
We had an event that we attended in one of the ballrooms. I have been in nicer Hampton Inns. Granted, being connected to the mall is nice, but I dont see any reason for this hotel to charge more than 75-90 bucks a night. Clean hotel and people were very nice, but definately nothing special to make it $175 a night!

We would love to go back !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/06
We have stayed in many hotels across the U.S. and the Wynfrey ranks very high. The service was great! The bed was extremely comfortable which gave us several nights of peaceful sleep. The location was good because it is located at an upper scale mall.
We have recommended this hotel to freinds and relatives who have also enjoyed their stays. We continue to give gift certificates for dinners and rooms because the food is excellent.

Going to give it one more try!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/06
What I like about this hotel was that it was so convenient -- that is as far as the shopping is concerned. For the past five years my family and I have gone to Birmingham on Thanksgiving Day and stayed for two days -- three rooms, to shop for Christmas. Very convenient since you can go back and forth to your room. My family consist of 6 adults ...
The Wynfrey Hotel has and extravagant Sunday Brunch consisting of grits and eggs, to oysters, shrimp, crab-legs, you name it 9/10 they have it. While the chef is still carving roast and ham, or flipping your personalized omelet over for its final turn...12 noon mimosa's accompany your meal that's when every stroke of the pianists comes ...

Take one diamond away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/06
There isn't really anything to dislike about this hotel; it just isn't comparable to "four diamond" hotels. (It is rated as a 4 diamond hotel by AAA.) The rooms are really very standard. The lobby is a passage way to a large shopping mall. The "fitness room" is minimally equipped. And the internet connections are often ...
