it's a good hotel with everything but you think: is this worth the money? its also really loud music from the hotel you sleep next to and from the hotel it self. it stops like at 2:00. so i couldn't sleep. the rest of it is not bad but its not worth the money.

the food was horrible the beer undrinkable suspect watered down and salt water towash and brush teeth with. friendly staff .watch out for the doctor very expensive even drove me to bank to get money . nice location would go again but not to papillon lagoon reef

We spent a week at Papillon at the beginning of June and wish we didn't.
The room was pretty dingy, with a primitive shower and a broken mosquito net. The food was poorly cooked, of questionable quality and very repetitive.

Rooms have slow, salty showers.
Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, very limited selection.
250 guests when full, one 2 slice toaster in the buffet breakfast. Takes 5 mintes to cook 2 slices of toast after waiting 10 minutes to use the toaster.
Evening bar, by the sea. One barman who keeps disapearing to get glasses.

Sea front rooms, that face the pool, and not the sea.

Next time I will go back to the sun n sand

Unable to go on the beach-due to the beach boys asking you to buy- buy- buy
Managment at the hotel very rude-not wiling to help if you have a problem.
Staff keep on at you just before you are going home for money or cloths
Showers in room dirty.
Entertainment not very good for children

We loved it. It blends in so well with the beach and countryside around it, with its palms and thatched roofs. Such a laid back hotel, with good basic evening entertainment. spacious clean rooms and helpful staff. Many happy memories of our wedding there back in September 1992, with Peachy, the entertainments guy, who always kept us moving!! Lovely ...

Overall i had a great week at papillon, the hotel was really lovely, with big gardens and plenty of private space for sunbathing. Perfect for a relaxing chilled out break, friendly people, excellent food lovely beach and perfect location for safari or day trips, only problem being the toaster(Very slow) and the roads through Mombassa need urgent repair, but an unforgettable holiday and cant wait to go back!!

Nice hotel, beautifull situation. Very good food. Yes there is one problem the toaster. The dinner is great with a good selection of food. Very quiet hotel. NOt the whole day music on the swimming pool.
Next Year January 2007 we will go back!
