Our family has been staying here for a week each year since the 80's. The Sve's are wonderful people who keep their cabins quite clean, tidy and well-supplied. Reports to the contrary are highly suspect, in our experience. It's great to get away from telephones, the internet, television, etc. and spend time right on the Lake Superior shoreline. Hiking, fishing, and "outdoorsing" opportunities abound.

The first time I was at Split Rock Cabins was in 1966with my parents when Ragnivold Sve ran it. My family has been there every year since. Now, my 6 siblings and I along with our families rent 9 cabins over the fourth of July. It is the greatest place on earth, but good luck getting a cabin cuz all of us "regulars" usually have them booked.

My family has been visiting the Split Rock Cabins each year for almost 30 years. We absolutely love it! The Sve's are terrific and keep all cabins nice and tidy. We wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

The cabin was spotless like always! Garbage picked up every day. When I mentioned to Eric I had to buy a jacket because I forgot how chilly it can get right by the lake, he immediately brought me one down from his house! How sweet and kind is that? Can't wait to get back there!

If it is the kind of place that is behind the times, that is where we want to be. The world needs to slow down and back up and leave all the business behind them. Families need to feel what yesteryear is like. Pretty soon everything will be paved or sprayed. I say keep it up Sve's!!! We stopped just to view the view and the cabins are just feet from the waters edge. that in itself is not heard of anymore and worth every penney.
