  • Still a piece of heaven
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/09
The first time I came to Doc n Al's I was 4 years old. Forty years later I'm bringing my children and their friends and families here. The place is a little older, but it's still the same. Every year we come it's a homecoming and I for one wouldn't go anywhere else. Our memories will last a lifetime. Trailers and cabins are ...

  • A PIECE OF HEAVEN
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/09
I USE TO GO TO DOC AND AL'S BACK IN THE 60'S UP UNTIL THE LATE 70'S. IN FACT MY MOTHER USE TO WORK CLEANING THE CABINS FOR A FEW YEARS WHEN LOIS AND LYNNE OWNED THE PLACE. I MOST OUT EAST AND HAVE'NT BEEN BACK BUT IT HOLDS THE BEST MEMORIES I HAVE OF ENJOYING THE OUTDOORS AND FISHING. I JUST HAPPENED TO FIND THIS WEBSITE AND WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF DOC AND AL'S IS STILL AS IT WAS 25 YEARS AGO.

  • Miss this place so much
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/09
This was one of my husband's and my most favorite vacation spots - and in all honesty - don't get more cabins, as it would just be another crowded place to go. We had to move out of state, but haven't yet found a place as peaceful, quiet, easy going and clean with such nice folks to run it and we're in PA - We went to D&A three ...

  • Bridgeport, A Family Tradition.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/09
Our family has been coming to Doc & Al's since 1970, same cabin, same week, every year. I used to tell my father that I'd bring my kids and that is exactly what we've done, my two brothers and their families. The fishing is excellent, atmosphere is western and outdoors, the tent and RV sites are grassy, the cabin sites are a dusty ...

  • Sore Back
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/09
I think this site is the best in all of Bridgeport. It has a great location and is situated under lots of trees. You can hear the creek from your cabin. I just wish the lady who runs the place would put a little money back into it. I've been going there for fifteen years and nothings changed. The beds are awful and the towels she gives you looks like she uses them to dry her car. She should also try to smile once in a while.

  • Keep coming back year after year......
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/08
Perfect base camp for trips to Twin Lakes Bridgeport, Bridgeport Resevoir and of course the Virginia Lakes. cabins are well maintained, reasonably priced and tidy. Staff is helpful and friendly.
I and a few of my favorite friends make it up here every May and October for years and years and years......plus a few family trips in between.

  • The Fall Colors
    By susan, 10/10/08
For the past 10+ years we have been coming to Doc & Al's in the fall. We rent one of the cabins near the Robinson's creek and the changing color's of the aspens is amazing. Some times at night the mule dear with their babies come by looking for berries. The location is great. Not to far from town and not to far from the fishing ...

  • Best Place on Earth
    By susan, 10/09/08
We take a family vacation every year to Doc and Al's. Just got back from our annual trip and i was so sad to leave. Love the cabins, rustic and very out doorsy... if you are a spa/resort kinda person this is not for you. We have about 20 people that go each year and about 25% are children, very kid friendly and the wildlife is amazing! cant wait till next year to go again!!!

  • Sierra's hidden jewel.
    By AlexanderN, 07/08/08
My family has been coming up here for the last 25 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. The location is ideal, right next to the streams, and only a short drive from Twin Lakes or the center of town.
The camp sight is nothing fancy but has everything an outdoorsman needs. If you are only interested in 4 star accommodations find some place else. ...
