Very pleased with the overall value and service. Bartenders were excellent and the check-in desk people were very polite and helpful. Excellent bar across the street called Drink (http://www.drinktexas.com) and near some great restaurants, especially Biga. The Hotel Contessa is a beautiful hotel, located on a very pretty section of the Riverwalk. Xmas time is so festive. The hotel is fairly nice but don't fall for the River View scam like we did. You can barely see the river out the corner of the window.

We enjoyed our stay and have no problem with the environment or service. However, the hotel charge me for mini-bar that we do not use. When I check they gave me credit. However, 2 weeks later they charge me $85. We had put all the items inside the mini bar next to the cabinet so we can use it for baby milk. I've call them twice to resolve this issue but they have not return my call.

I travel frequently around the country and Europe and found Hotel Contessa very mediocre. The hotel itself looked nice but service was slow. The most disappointing part of the stay at Contessa was the theft of several articles. I am sure this doesn't reflect on everyone there but it will prevent me from staying there again or recommending the hotel as this has never happened to me before at any hotel.

When I was checking in, I overheard a family that was checking out how much they enjoyed their stay. They were right! The staff was wonderful and the rooms, beautiful. I can't say enough good things about the Hotel Contessa! I can't wait to go back!

The hotel was very beautiful and clean. The staff upon entry were very friendly and helpful.

Beware of the noise. Because of the open area that runs up the middle of the hotel noise echoes very loudly and very late. Noise from the street view is also very loud.
