Hotel Salam is a bit outside the hectic city center of Bamako which makes it a bit hard to reach. The hotel garden is beautiful with a nice pool big enough to swim in, and the breakfast is superb. But best of all is the staff. Friendly and ready to help with whatever you may need. Which is very valuable if you get here for the first time.
This is an excellent, upscale hotel, but not over the top. Very clean rooms and good overall service. Very near the center of town, but not within walking distance. The service and attitude of the staff is exceptional. Clean, modern, even safe water. and beautiful Ethiopian airline attendants stay there too. Great location, terrific laundry service. the food is excelent, if a little high priced. Bon jour will get you far in Mali and at this hotel. Just say 'i n ce' in Bambara for thank you and they love you.

A beautiful hotel overlooking the Niger River, with well-appointed and spacious rooms. The staff was warm and welcoming and most accommodating and attentive to my family, frequently going above and beyond the call of duty.
