What a fantastic time we had. We did the Crawford Notch run which was chartered by a train club out of Maine. This was the last run to the notch for the year, so they made it extra special. First, they started with a steam engine which did some small runs, including unloading passengers at one point (if you wanted to) and doing a drive-by ...

Not Scenic at all
By Thomas Z, 11/28/06
Was very excited for the ride but was very disapointed in the end. On the Sunday after Thanlksgiving we took the Holiday express. It was only some garland hung in the cars, and santa gave out some cookies. The Scenic ride was mostly backyards of houses and business. A few rivers and mostly trees. My ride on the LIRR is nicer. I do not reccomend spend your monoy on something else.

I enjoyed the views, the escape from technology and the chance to be in the moment. This is a must-see if you are spending some time in the Conway area.

Refrain from the Train
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/18/06
My family and I were excited about going on the 55 minute train ride, but I don't recommend it. To say it was 'scenic' is a stretch--you pass people's backyards and the back of buildings most of the time. Exhilarating Ride
By greene51789, 06/02/06
I took the 5 1/2 hour train ride through Crawford Notch and back with my family. Even though it was long you will never get bored. Kids love the trains and everyone will love the views. You will go right on the mountains and learn about the history of that area. You can even get a bite to eat on the dining car! I recommend going in the fall to see the dramatic foliage.

the train

I liked the train ride though the city/country side. My family and I opted for a shorter train ride about 45 min. and we loved it even my four year old son. It was just enough the veiws of the wilderness, and most of al loved the views of the mountians. My son loved the train whistle. Over all it was a good family thing to do to brake up the day.
