First off, to the person who whined about not being 'allowed' to eat a candy bar, really? That's silly. Also, you're allowed to eat whatever you want off grounds, but people go there to completely be surrounded in a place focused on personal health and well-being, and learning to eat better. I'm not really sure how people could ...
Rooms were dirty, cramped, and needed repair. No heat. Scummy outdoor pool a half mile up the mountain was closed. Skimpy bland food. Three hours or more of exercise per day left me feeling sick and weak. Programming is humiliating for anyone who is not already fit. Staff was callous and left people behind of they couldn't keep up. Don't waste your money!

Worth every penny
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/08
I came for a month, realizing that I needed that time to make what I'd learn habitual. My room is comfortable (including the bed, but others don't like their beds) and kept clean. They are in the process of updating/redecorating. The pool leaves a lot to be desired (lots of bugs and spiders float on the surface and the bottom is rough in ...

Great program, penny-pinching outlook
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/07
The behavioral, eating, and fitness programs are absolutely excellent and I feel much healthier and more in control of my weight and fitness. However, I am not sure I would come back, primarily because the accommodations are so sub-par and because I do not feel that I am receiving good value for my money. Green Mountain is more expensive than a ...
I've been to Green Mountain at Fox Run about 10 times over the last 20 years. This is not a luxury spa, but it sure does the job of making me feel great. I first came after I was diagnosed with diabetes, several decades ago. I know what I learn at Green Mountain has helped me stay well and kept me from gaining weight. But forget all that ...

One Year Later-The slow starter
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/10/07
I had a one year goal to regain control over my body.I was a really slow starter to make change and I know that slow integration of new ideas is how permanent change is made for me. I can cook steel cut oatmeal without a recipe now. I just completed that full year of being "out there" with all the information I learned after a one month ...

Lifestyle Changing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/22/06
Wonderful experience with a fitness instuctor that will change your life. Plan on returning again next year! October is a wonderful time of year to visit with the added color change in the mountains.
Don't think you're headed to fat camp. You'll exercise for four to five hours a day. You'll focus on learning new behaviors that will help you eat better and exercise regularly when you get home. There are no gimmicks. It's a straightforward program that works -- provided you work, too. An excellent experience.
