Do not make the mistake of coming here on a Saturday night for cocktails. This is a very poor excuse for a "trendy" spot. The service is terrible, even after ordering multiple bottles of liquor for our group.

NIGHTMARE/DISGUSTING - DON'T STAY HERE.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/11/09
THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE!!!! THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IS NOT SAFE. WHEN YOU FIRST WALK -IN. YOU SEE A RED DARK STAIRCASE, THAT LEADS TO A DARK LOBBY. THE ROOMS ARE SMALL AND EVERYTHING IN THE ROOM IS OLD. THE BEDS ARE UNCOMFORTABLE. THE FLOOR RUGS ARE DISGUSTING. THE PLASMA TV WAS BROKEN. THE PICTURES ARE DECEIVING. DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE. THE ...
This hotel was gross. The neighborhood is in transition and there are some great assets in the area, but the hotel is nasty and not worth the money!

Fantastic stay

Overpriced for neighborhood

I stayed in the Rivington in January 2006. It is the only nice or new building in the middle of a sort of a slum area known as the lower east side, complete with dirty sidewalks, run down storefronts flag the hotel. My room was very dark by design. The view was on the fifth floor in the back. The shower looked right out into the shaftways of ...
My experience at the Rivington was exceptional. The guy who took us up to our room was unbelievably friendly and showed us a couple of other rooms that were different stlyes than ours. We got a corner room with the chartreuse theme and a view all the way around from floor to ceiling windows/balcony. We could see all the way up to the Chrysler ...
