Nice ViewWe stumbled on Fort Charlotte (like all our encounters in Nassau!) on a day trip off a cruise ship. There were a few loacls there, one who was very courteous and gave us a pretty in-depth history of the place.

Cruise Trip Summer 2007If I returned to Nassau--I would NOT get off the cruise ship. This island is a trash dump...The people do not know how to clean up after themselves. Never Go BackFort Charlotte was the filthest place I have ever been...Gross, puke, and upchuck is what I experienced when I was there. A group of condoms greeted us at the band stage. Whiskey bottles, beer cans and trash strewed around the fort inside the fort itself, smelled like urine. Reply from the tour guide. "It is Sunday, why should we work on Sunday"...."Gag me with a spoon"......
