Very small zoo, most exhibits were closed or couldn't see the animals. This zoo in not a major metro zoo like San Diego, San Francisco or Indianapolis. Very simple and small. The grounds however are beautiful and the Children's Petting Zoo was very enjoyable for my 9 and 5 year old kids. A nice place to visit, set your expectations accordingly.

It was a great disappointment. There were so few exhibits and the animals weren't visible in several of them. They also trick you into paying the admission by putting the ticket booth by the entrance to the petting zoo that is free. There was a better selection of animals in the petting zoo. I thought it was great that while walking in the beautiful park there was a zoo as one of the many attractions in the park. They had the cuttest little penguin display. I loved it! Although it wasn't a huge zoo it was definitly a fun adventure

This place was wonderful. You totally forget that you are in the middle of New York City. A wonderful getaway for families, couples or just by yourself. Amazing facility, well kept grounds, still amazed that it is in the middle of NYC.
