Good place to stayIf you like tidy and quiet hotal rooms with maids and room service, this place isn't for you. It is definately a camp ground. The cabins are small but dry and cozy with heat and electricity. They comfortably sleep a family of 4. The bathrooms can get dirty but are adaquate. I have been going here for 5 years now. Thank Goodness This Place Is Still Around!Okay, so I'm looking back to time spent there in Summer, 2000 (not 2003, as was the earliest time to choose on the form), but I remember how my wife and I had fairly low/reasonable expetcations. Very rude staff & no facilitiesVery disappointing. The staff was very rude esp the lady at the counter. She did not offer any help but just handed over a map & told the designated site #. Great!The place was great, not far from downtown lake placid, give you a nice lot good distance from each other.

Dont get a cabinWe wanted a nice,quiet,romantic weekend get away and had seen that this place had "log cabins" and it sounded perfect for the 2 of us. When we arrived we were so disappointed. Not only was the cabin so close to the road that you could see and hear the busy traffic all day and night...so much for peace and quiet in the woods..but it ...2 of 3 Yahoo! Our Experience @ Whispering PinesIT WAS GREAT!!! We have been going there with 1/2 of my family enjoying the outdoors and the great cabin. We will continue to go there every year, as long as our finance allow it. I would recommend this place to anyone. It is a great time by all.
