it was filthy, there were stains on the bed and human faeces on the wall!
there were gaps in the wall to outside.
the floor was crawling with bugs, as well as the bed linen.
the celing was yellow and dirty.
the bathroom was mouldy.

i stayed in da carter nov 25 till da 29nov '07,i found the staff lovely i was dealing with. da rooms were clean very basic but its cheap an wud do 4 da few days u were stay'n in da big apple. i read alot of da reviews b 4 i went an was in an awful way didnt know wat to tink.i wud recommend it if ur goin shopping, an not fussy if u have a clean bed an shower ur laughing............. which u have an plenty hot water.. This is absolutely the most disgusting place! The room was dirty, with stained carpeting, sheets, walls, etc. No towels were provided and we needed to ask for them at the front desk. My friend and I managed to put up with the dirt, smell of stale urine, and general all round appalling standards for 2 nights, purely because of the price and location. We left this hotel with scabies!! Enough said!!

This is a terrible place, do not go there.I did not believe of the previous reviiews.Very dirty,nasty place, service is horrible.Just good location.Thy should close that place.It is not safe for anyones health.

Myself and two of my friends stayed at the Hotel Carter because of the location and the price. A week after we left the hotel we all broke out in what looked like mosquito bites on our hands, arms, feet and legs. My doctor can't be sure what caused the outbreak but I am currently under treatment for Scabies and Bed Bugs.
