  • Inn never returns emails or phone calls.
    By Mary AnneK, 09/23/09
I called them twice and emailed twice, as my daughter did also, about having a small wedding reception there. They never called or emailed back. Two weeks later I get an email from a friend of theirs that read...

  • Fabulous Stay!
    By iconoclaste, 03/26/08
Everything was very elegant, the host was so warm, and the atmosphere was perfect.

It really made our whole experience in Pittsburgh.

The restaurant served us, even though the staff had gone home for the day...

Everyone that worked at this inn was fun, courteous, and very helpful with suggestions on where to go, what to do, while we were there.

We will definitely go back. A dream.

  • Loved it, loved it, loved it!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/07
This is the most charming B&B I had ever stayed in. The owners, Karl and Jeff were charming, personable and informative. Karl was fantastic! I wanted to get a manicure on Saturday afternoon, bad timing on my part. But, he called his manicurist and she fit me in! He knew all the good places to go in the wonderful city of Pittsburgh. He and Jeff ...

  • Beautiful Home!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/04/07
We had a great stay and very much enjoyed the mansion and the bar. The staff (particularly the Host for the resturant and bar area) were very friendly and helpful. The only knock on the place is that it is located in a very gritty part of Pittsburgh.

  • little pricey!
    By KimH, 05/18/07
I just ate at the Acanthus. It's a beautiful building. The food was good but a little pricey for what you get. The restaurant is very romantic and the tables are not crammed together. Because the banquette type seating is so upright and the seats are not very deep, it is not the most comfortable to sit at for any length of time. There's a couple blocks to drive through that have some riff-raff hanging around.

  • My Favorite Hotel in Pittsburgh
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/18/07
I have stayed her multiple times. The innkeepers are a delight and make me feel like a welcome guest each time. Enormous rooms, tastefully appointed. A $500/night experience at a fraction of the cost. Continental breakfasts are sufficient, but dinners at the attached gourmet restaurant are where it's at. The location is great for me-- within ...

  • We loved it !
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/10/07
A very romantic bed and breakfast. We loved the area. There are many renovations happening with the delightful row houses in the neighborhood surrounding the mansion.
You should be cautious in the late evening, there are a few men's shelters near by that made me slightly uneasy.
    Convenient location.

  • A Gem!
    By Shawn, 03/07/06
Also known as R.H. Boggs House, this beautifully restored mansion on the North Side of Pittsburgh is now a lovely bed & breakfast. The innkeepers (especially Karl) are great. He brought fresh flowers to our room, left a very sweet note & made us feel right at home. We stayed in the Mrs. Boggs suite, which is spacious, lovely & has the most ...

  • Game time!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/04/06
The innkeepers were great and the location was perfect for going to a Steeler game. You could walk across the street, through the park and you are there - Heinz Field.

  • Wonderful time
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/05
THIS gem is a real treat. Stayed there to visit the Warhol museum a couple of yrs. ago and we cannot WAIT to come back. It's very well priced for what you get and worth every penny. The guy's are THE nicest and any information we needed they were more than happy to help with.
