Bates is the PLACE for a ANY gathering!!!Right here in our OWN backyard! Oakland has a hidden gem near Lake Merritt...The Bates House. Beautiful collections of imported art and statues from his previous trips and a hand painted ceiling! He even cooks your breakfast in the morning!!!!Was this review helpful? Stunning with great serviceI had my wedding reception here in the back courtyard, then spent the night in the master suite. The atmosphere is great, it is well kept, clean (very important for me), hospitality is fantastic, and the food is delicious.
