What a unique place! It's old Florida. The food was wonderful and very well priced. The service was great. It's alittle hard to find. The GPS has to have 85th st ct east added to the address. Once you get there you will enjoy everything about Linger Lodge.

This place will send you back about 50 years to Old Florida. Much like the old Fish Camps, this place reeks of the 1950's. Try it just for fun -- not for your wedding anniversary -- and you won't be disappointed.

What happened to this Treasure?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/08
The view is gorgeous, the river so peaceful. But the food and service is terrible. Ordered appetizer that never showed up; good placed on table cold. menu has been reduced significantly, many previous dinners, seafood, fish no longer on menu. Service was slow and inept. Had to ask for iced tea refill twice.
What has happened to this treasure of the past? Will not take visitors there, ever again. Very sad.

Bring it Back

Having been born and raised in Sarasota I remember Linger Lodge when it used to be just a pavilion and a bar-b-que pit. When we moved into Bradenwoods Subdivision in 1983 we became regulars at Linger Lodge. We would eat there 2 to 3 times a month. The River Platter and Riverbottom Pie along with Franks stories and character keep the place a ...

A great time!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/08
We just returned from a very nice dinner at Linger Lodge. After reading the previous reviews, we were expecting the worst! There were 6 of us. The service was great...someone came immediately and checked back with us frequently through the time we were there. Everyone's food was very good. The prices were excellent....drinks were half ...

We moved to the Braden River 5 years ago and started going to Linger Lodge a couple of times a week. The food and service were very good at the time. We took all our visitng friends there as well...either by car or by boat. Going by boat is a wonderful experience..such a beautiful river and so many things to see along the way. Since it has ...

Hidden Gem

Old Florida at it's best. Don't go if you're looking for fancy. Fancy it isn't. Great view of the river and birds. Food was very good. Fried Green tomatoes are a must have. A great surprise. The gumbo is the best I ever had. The Red Fish sandwich was excellent, another member of the party tried the Red Fish Rubean. ...

Linger Lodge Restaurant
By MiguelG, 02/24/07
One of my wife co-workers recommended the Linger Lodge Restaurant, today we decided to take the drive and try it since we were in the area. We arrived at 12:30 pm, and even though the restaurant tables were almost all empty we did not get seated until 1:20 pm. The waitress finally came to our table after about 5-6 minutes; she took our drink ...

Gem in the rough
By ikwewe, 02/19/07
This gem is hard to find but well worth the effort. It's hidden inside a period RV resort and looks like an old time river tavern decorated with stuffed creatures of the Florida swamps. The decor and furnishings are decidedly casual, picnicky almost. The view out back is worth the trip, as the screened deck appears to hang directly over the ...
