We went to Block Island and the Barrington Inn blind at the end of April. The island was empty and many things were closed, but it is spectacularly beautiful, unspoiled, and very wild for a beach resort. Don't miss the Clay Head Trail, Mohegan Bluffs, and Dory's Cove, all beautiful, wild, natural sites.
