One of my friends invited me to go to the bridge with him one day , & it was fun . We caught half a medium sized ice box of croakers . Some of them weighed over a pound . We also caught some other kind of fish too , Toad fish , I think . We used a box , & a half of squid that night . By : Gerald B. Mike H. of NC

We were in town for my daughters' college orientation.

We stopped by the pier for a few hours to try it out. We bought some shrimp and squid and were setup for bottom fishing.

Started out slow. I was just letting the bait sit on the bottom. Lost a few rigs due to some type of structure in the water. Moved down the pier 50 ft and that ...

  • Trip of a life time
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/09
I took my 70 year old uncle on August 1, 2009, and my cousin, who has never fished before, and they are ready to go again. We did not catch the big one, but we are looking forward to going again to do that!

  • First Time Visit
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/09
My family and I went because we had heard so many exciting things about the thrill of catching fish. We caught only a few, and someone was kind enough to share a few of their fish with us because of the hassle of cleaning them. Which was great !!!!

Later we were informed that we had a "Summer Flounder" that was underweight. ...

  • N C FISHERMAN
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/27/09
I fished 04/22/09 during the wind storm and the Croaker fishing was great.
Caught 12 to 16 inch Croaker all afternoon. I took about 30 home and released between 30 to 40 more.

There were only about 10 people fishing during the afternoon, because of the weather.

  • Really like this pier!
    By s, 03/23/09
We caught fish all day when I was here a year ago. The bathroom was clean and the people were very nice.
Hey, It's a very big pier and It's old.
If you want a nice bathroom go to Micky D's and eat a fish sandwich.

    By belindad, 08/01/08
I went to the pier on july 30, 2008. I went on a weeknight to beat the crowds that are usually out there on the weekends. Alot of ppl complain about the bathrooms but they are a huge improvement from years ago. When we arrived this guy caught a HUGE sea bass and he couldn't even reel it in, he dragged it along to the beginning of the pier so ...
