  • TERRIBLE!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/29/08
samasati's website is very misleading. This place is rustic. Cabins, dirty linens, intermittant hot water. The staff are treated very badly and it shows on their face, and in their behaviour. The management is useless and the yoga is just embarassing. These teachers have no experience at all. I definitely don't recommend this place. Try Montezeum instead. You'll be glad you did

  • rustic living
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/08
Samasati's website is very misleading. This place is quite rustic, moldy with intermittent hot water, lots of insects, and badly stained towels and sheets. The management is completely disorganized and does not give the impression of being interested in helping solve any problems with accomodations. What little yoga we were able to take was ...

this vegan yoga retreat is exactly what it claims to be. fantastic food [especially the dinners] for vegans [soup, main course, veggies and awesome salad dishes]. beautiful location, great houses, cabins and dining area. phenomenal rain forest walks and when in your hammock or cabin it sounds like you are right in the middle of it. best part is the ...

  • Beautiful Yoga Retreat
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/07
Loved it -- will return if I can. Excellent location & climate -- cooler at night with rain most nights, warmer during day -- no artificial air or heat necessary in March 2007. Howler monkeys and morpha butterflies every where. Parots and toucans. Cool frogs and lizards. Dense vegetation, high elevation. Clean and architecturally pleasing ...

  • Christmas at Samasati
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/07
I was at Samasati over the Christmas holiday and I will always remember it as a very special vacation for us.

Samasati hit the right note in numerous ways: Our accommodations were in the middle of the wild rain forest, but we could enjoy the simple comfort of a hot shower everyday. The yoga classes encouraged development both in the ...

  • Samasati brings the jungle to the ocean
    By Robert, 04/15/06
We just returned from Costa Rica and stayed at Samasati for a week. It met our expectations and then some: great location in the jungle above the ocean, excellent food, accommodations and food.

We had a very nice, spacious, two floor bungalow that stayed cool day round. My wife and I alternated yoga courses and got into a great rhythm. The ...

  • 2 hours more!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/06
Our first suprise was how long it took to arrive at Samasati. From the airport in San Jose in afternoon traffic over winding and bumpy roads it took 5 1/2 hours. The return trip on a Sunday morning took only 3.5 hours.

Samasati is exceptionally beautiful with a constant breeze, but it takes a long time to get anywhere. It is located high on a ...

  • A personal tropical paradise!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/05
This pastoral tropical paradise retreat is the perfect setting for personal and spiritual rejuvination. While the tranquility of the rain forest embedded cabinas is uncompromised by modern machine and gadget noise, the classical Caribbean accomodations include modern bathrooms and clean airey living spaces.

The view from the well attended ...
