We spent two weeks in Royal Hicacos Resort Varadero Cuba on our honeymoon. The staff were excellent, very friendly. The best food locations were the Beach Bar Grill and the Buffett.

Excellent location easy to get a hop on/off bus to Varadero where there is a nice chinese restaruant down by the big market.

The start of our stay was a little worse then other visits. The Sandals head office had sold some tour packages to some French companies which was a mistake for this resort. The problem was the French groups were not couples in a couples only resort.

After several trips to the Royal Hicacos I do not understand how people can complain about food,service or people. We plan to be there again to celebrate my 50th birthday with the friends we have made at the resort. They are lovely caring people and if you go with open minds and hearts everything will exceed your expectations.

We have gone for 2 years in a row and are going for two weeks this year instead of one. Looking forward to a month next year! We just loved the staff, service and food. Once you find a place like this, why go anywhere else? The Cuban people are so welcoming and friendly. We hired a car for the day last year and went into Havana and saw absolutely no beggars or riff-raff. Wonderful!!

The resort was clean , food was good, weather unbeleivable, and beaches like you see them on TV, pool could have been warmer
but once in just fine.
