This was our first trip to Hawaii and we absolutely had a wonderful time. The resort was very nice. We loved our room and lanai. It was so beautiful and had such relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone especially if you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountains and beach. The staff was wonderful and eager to ...
Makaha Resort is out of the way, QUIET place to stay. The staff is outstanding and very helpfull. The location is a couple of miles from the ocean but it can be seen from the resort but the mountians more than make up for the lack of beachfrontage. You need a car to see the other activities on the island, but that is OK, they don't charge ...
Away from the "city". No rush hour traffic. Nice scenery.nice pool. Awsome flowers and greenery. Simple activities. Away from the noise of waikiki. Nice quiet beaches nearby.
We spent a week at the resort and enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and spacious but could have used some updating. The grounds are very nice. You must rent a car to stay at this hotel because it is miles from everything - including the beach. The pool was beautiful, the golf course was great and the breakfast buffet was very good. ...
If you want to be in Waikiki, this IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU! It is located in Waianae, which is a good 45 minute drive from the airport. A rental car is a MUST! Now on the other hand, if you want to get away from it all, I recommend this place as a nice retreat. The scenery is beautiful and it's out of the hustle and bustle of the city. ...
we loved the secluision but the beaches were, over run by homeless people and this took away from the overall veiw of the trip.we probably will not return since the resort is so far away from every thing and the trafic is terrible. we loved the resturant and the staff of the resort went out of their way to see that all of our needswere taken care of.very friendlyand professional. aloha and mahalo from north carolina.
food was good. service in resturant was good. cleanliness was poor. made beds everyday but never cleaned floor but twice a week, bathtub never cleaned in two weeks.did not clean patio at all.was told my responsibilty.my room was in "Q" area and was a quarter of a mile from pool and resturant up hill. for 74 year old man big walk tried ...
Our stay at Makaha Resort was absolutely perfect. It was a perfect place to get away and relax. We spent most of our time just enjoying the view from the outside restaurant. The food and service was great every day. We even had a waitress request a song for us one evening being as we are newlyweds. Makaha Resort is the perfect place to get away ...
My wife and I just stayed 4 nights at the Makaha Resort. The resort is about a 45 minute drive up the west coast from the airport. It was easy to find and a definite get away from the crowds type of place.
Upon arrival the buildings are TWO story with a sort of hut style look to them that blend well with the landscaping. No real big high rises ...

I literally just returned from a week vacation to Oahu, and I spent 3 nights at Makaha and we hated leaving to head to crowded crazy "city" (although that was fun and a different feel for the second half of the vacation). After reading some of the reviews I was concerned about what we might be checking into - but I feel complelled to say ...
