I really enjoyed staying at the Union Square Inn on my first trip to New York City in December of 2007. It was a cute little hotel with loads of character, convenient to the subway, and had the best coffee I have ever drank and it was even free each morning along with danish and bagels and juice which were also delicious! The staff was low-key but very helpful when needed. This hotel is very clean also. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Union Square Inn in August 2005 and enjoyed our stay.
The location is good, as it is in a charming neighborhood, and is close to the Union Square subway station.
The rooms were small but clean and sanitary.
One front-desk person was very friendly, the other...not so much.
