my husband and i stayed for 5 days......the staff was so nice and accommodating; from the shuttle driver, to the kitchen help, to the cleaning crew, to the front desk. the breakfast was full of cold & hot food choices!
we were impressed and would stay there again. our only complaint was our bed - we sank to the middle just as other reviewers noted.......(hotels need to flip mattresses every month)

My brother and I went to Alexandria from CT to visit a family friend for her birthday and we had a great time. But, most of all we had a great room, great staff (who were very helpful) and great location. We're heading back to the Residence Inn in Old Towne for our 4th or 5th visit. My daughter likes the pool. I like the shops and restaurants within walking distance. The easy access to the Metro is another plus.
The staff is friendly and by now, we know the whole set up. Getting in and out of the parking proved to be a bit of a challenge ...

Rooms:
The room I stayed in was spacious and the cleaning crew kept the room in excellent condition during my three week stay. Bed springs were worn; everyone sleeps on the side closest to the bathroom.

I was very impressed by the cleaning crew they’re one of the major reasons the hotel didn’t slip into a lower rating.

not customer friendly at all. the staff did not seem to care and acted like they only wanted to do what was easiest for them.

Stay was not as expected-- Employees had a "don't care" attitude.
Halls very noisey at night
Breakfast was terrible--

Laporta Restaurant was not clean in handling of food. Very expensive
