We stayed at this hotel the night of our company's Christmas party, which was held in the hotel's ballroom space. The hotel's common space seems smallish but is tastefully decorated: every inch of this place is beautiful. We LOVED our room - on a high floor with a stunning view of the city. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the ...
The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff is delightful and very helpful, the rooms are great, the roof top pool is breath taking (the hot tub could be warmer though), and the happy hour is a nice touch. The only downside to the hotel is the restraunt...the food is terrible.

When our family went there we asked a guy for parking it cost $24.00 but we discoverd right across the street parking only cost $6.00.We also went to eat breakfast and once we got back to our room the maid left THE DOOR OPEN! Everthing else was okay.

Basically a Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn at a boutique price, great location if your in town to see the Astros play as we were. If you are a remote Astros fan coming to town for a weekend series be warned that a lot of visiting fans stay here and can make the stay much less pleasant (cubs, yankees, red sox, cardinals), also know that other ...
I guess the experience was okay but nothing that I would pay top dollar for. Our first impression as we walked in? "Eh. Looks ok." The room was good. Granite countertops in the bathroom and entryway were the only thing that distinguished it from a Holiday Inn. The view of downtown was great. The pillows were too big and not fluffy. ...
What a romantic get away! We were so taken care of and the King room was a gem. The bathroom was just wonderful--the marble fixtures and the over-sized tub made time in the room very special. I am looking forward to another stay and have more fun downtown.
I was unsure about staying at the Magnolia since I was unfamiliar with it, but I wanted a hotel near Minute Maid Park. After I read all the good reviews on this site, I decided to go for it. I usually stay at Omni Hotels, and the Magnolia was just as nice. Plus, it was nice to be able to walk just a few blocks to the ballpark and the aquarium, ...

The absolute best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/18/07
My husband and I live in Houston but when we need a get away we stay at the Magnolia. it is wonderful. We always get the package that includes dinner at Sambuca's Restaurant that is in walking distance from the hotel. I absolutely love the place. We go at least once every two to three months and spend the night. We call it our get away without getting away......

Loved it!

My honey and I recently went to Houston with the purpose of staying in a nice hotel. Magnolia was our pick due to price and location. The staff was very nice and professional. We loved the room. We were on the 4th floor and the view was not worth mentioning. The roof top pool was amazing just wish it was heated...lol! We would definatly stay there again without a doubt!

terrible experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/06
We had a terrible experience at this hotel. We only stayed one night, but were billed for 2 (second night being much higher rate) and hotel insisted on charging us. Also our stay there was not spectacular. Everything in the area closes on the weekend and only thing you find in walking distance is cheap liquor stores and threatening indigents. I do not recommend.
