I have no qualms staying at a hostel with little or unimpressive amenities. You share a common bathroom in your section of the building. People are loud and constantly at sleeping hours. Some (weird) people actually live there. The service can be mediocre to bad. I have no problems with that because its cheap. That's the compromise I make ...

Never go in this Hostel!!!!!!

We had a terrible room - bedbugs where in the room and the room was dirty!
In the end the security guard stole money & we had to call the police! When we had to go without money, the laughed at us!
The worst people work there & the Hostel looks like a crackhouse!
They messed up our last 2 days in NYC!!!

This hostel is inexpensive, especially private room. But if you wanna stay double bed room, you have to go to another building. This building does not have a kitchin! It is so inconvenient. And if you wanna to cook something, you have to bring some stuff(ex;pot,plate,knife,lighter...). Staff is kind.Location is not too bad.

Good location on west side just a few blocks from Broadway and Central Park. One elevator worked another under maintenance. Good basic room, no AC but 3 windows (could get hot in summer bring a fan), close to green belt parks along the Hudson too; subway just 10 minutes walk away, good shops and eateries on Broadway.
