This was a bad vacation experience!Our experience at this cabin was the worst we have ever had staying anywhere. Our first day there after we had been seeing the local sights, we were accused of breaking pool cues and were told we would be charged for them. We were not guilty of this. Great placeMy husband and I really enjoyed the stay. It was quiet and peaceful. I really enjoyed sitting outside by the fire...along side the river. We visited Biltmore that weekend (recommend that) and it wasn't a long drive from Evening Shade. I would recommend anyone to stay and enjoy the great views.OVERALLServiceCleanlinessLocationValue

A Great Place to Stay!!!The Evening Shade has a beautiful back yard that is accessible for all it's guests. You can relax on their swings, picnic tables, or one of the massive rocks near the river and enjoy one of, if not THE, best views in town. Relaxation at its bestview is beautiful but room was musky smelling and needs a little updating. We never saw management after registering. The other managers use to start a fire each night. Neatest little places in NC!We stopped here and fell in love with the place...the backyard has the Rocky Broad River running through with giant prehistoric looking boulders, its like looking back in time and sooo relaxing. Was OKI needed a room for my father my son and myself. My father had to sleep on the floor because the fold out bed was SOOOO uncomfortable. I had asked for one room (the fishing room) that wasn't avail as listed on the net and got the smallest room as a comp. I feel maybe b/c I have a toddler? Maybe not?

NEEDS UPDATINGMY HUSBAND AND I ONLY STAYED HERE FOR ONE NIGHT ON OUR WAY THROUGH TOWN.
INTERNET PICTURES LOOKED ALOT BETTER THAN THE ACTUAL ROOM. CARPET, AND APPLIANCES NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. BATHROOM IS REALLY SMALL. FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO STAYWE HAD BEEN THERE MANY TIMES BEFORE AND LOVED IT! BUT WE WENT DECEMBER 22 AND STAYED THROUGH CHRISTMAS TO HAVE OUR CHRISTMAS THERE. WE GO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!It is cozy, clean, quite,beautifull sceenery,the rooms are decorated in good taste and have their own little theme we like the bears den!, the staff is super nice they make you fell right at home. I drink a lot of coffee and I told them and they kept a pot on the maker all the time.We love it! We don't live to far a way in S.C. so we try to go as often as we can.
