This will mark our 12th summer staying at the Pony Island Motel. We spend two relaxing, peaceful weeks at this outstanding family-owned and operated motel every August. The property is lovingly maintained from year-to-year. The guest rooms and suites are clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, the pool is a terrific alternative to the beach, and the entire staff is so gracious and warm.

I reserved a room at the Pony Island Motel late evening before getting on the ferry to Ocracoke Island. We spent the weekend with another couple and decided to share a room since all other rooms were booked. Reluctantly, we felt we would be cramped 4 in a room. After we got to our room on the 2nd floor, we were pleasantly pleased with the amount of space we had. It was enough for all 4 and very clean. We enjoyed our weekend and plan to do it again!

This motel is on the edge of the village area, so it is a great location to be near the shops and restaurants (a block away from the Back Porch restaurant--yum!) but not in the middle of all the crowds. Stayed on the 3rd floor, so we had to lug our bags up the flights of stairs, and the walls were paper thin in between adjoining rooms (heard the crying baby next door) but other than that, it was comfortable and clean.

the wife and I stayed here on our vacation 2 years ago and really liked it. The room was extremely clean and the pool was like brand new. We would have loved an ocean or harbor view but ended up lounging at the pool most of the time!

We stayed 2 years ago, and my husband and his brother are there now. He said it is still a great place to stay. Clean, Good Service......We plan to go back.
