I stayed at this motel because it aloud pets and was cheap for the week but this guy got drunk and the police put his head through a window and all this time we were in the room we rented praying that no one would thy to come in and hurt us my daughter was also there it was horrifying. they should have called the police sooner and caught this guy before it got out of hand.

Run down, dirty, beds were lumpy and the linnens smelled moldy. Carpet was filthy!!!
It looked like it was rented by the hour by others!!!!!

True the water is yellow thru out the island. (Most coastal towns have that issue) The beds slept very good the air conditioning was great. It is a little run-down but for the price, it was a good deal. The owners were friendly.

You can't use the water from anywhere on Surfside Island, it's all yellow! So that shouldn't go against the Anchor...if you need some place to stay after a long day at the beach, it serves the purpose. Yeah, it's not the nicest...but when an air conditioner and a bed are what matter the most, the Anchor is as good as any.
