As we hide behind the veil of anonymity we talk as if we are big men in the know. But are we? No, we are cowards. Cowards who throw barbs that cannot be thrown back at us. What does that make us? It makes us cowardly little mentally ill freaks typing away at our computers and making negative comments about something that we (or our sons) could ...

  • Peanut rolling
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/09
Chilled Ponds now has turf and it's open for peanut rolling. This surface is way better than any other surface that me and my family have ever rolled peanuts on before; when the bill of your John Deere cap strikes the peanut it just goes and goes. We moved here from Georgia and were afraid of the programming offered to local peanut rollers, ...

  • The Answer
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/10/09
Last season the Jr-C Whalers played Richmond U18 AA and lost, well were killed, 9-1. So this year the Jr Whaler answer is to play Richmond U16 AA; obviously to avoid any more embarrassment...like having a soccer field in your ice arena is not enough embarrassment; well once the junior players finish constructing it there will be a soccer field ...

  • never never never
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/09
Saw the rink go from arc to canlan to cp. Straight downhill all the time. The desperation of putting turf in one arena in Sept (heading into the busy time of year) does not bode well for the business. I suspect, by next summer, it will be a memory (or indoor go-karting) just like the ex-rink in Fredericksburg. Owning an Ice rink in this part of the ...

  • Soccer field
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/09
Unless those soccer people are bringing money to the table, or they are buying the LTD Arena, then the indoor soccer won't happen cuz you know PC won't pay for the conversion. He won't even pay for a few square yards of new carpet for the lobby so now he's gunna pay to have all that high end indorr soccer stuffput in??? Come on ...

    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/09
The rink is a filthy dump. And whats with these junior c players, their heads are so big, the have to turn sideways to get into garage door. Instead of all the talk about winning nats, why not improve yourselves as players so you can get out of that dump. by the way my money is on that garbage cha team whipping you guys too.

Why not get the Jr-C team on the ice with Richmond, Va U18AA as soon as possible? You know, before Richmond has any practices and after you've practiced all summer. Try to reverse the 9-1 smack down they laid on you last season? This way you could proove that the SEJHL J-C is a higher level than CBHL U18AA; or if you're up for a real ...

  • While we are at it....
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/09
Both current junior coaches have guided Whaler teams to the USA Hockey National Championships, including the Junior C team this past year that was nearly all local kids. That team only lost 1 game at nationals. To question that coaches credibility is a complete joke. Using this forum to attack Patrick, Tom, Walt or any of the Whaler Nation youth ...
