Well just visited Honolulu this past weekend (6/26-6/29) and came away with a conclusion regarding this hotel with mixed results. For the pros, they have an affordable nightly rate and the location is definitely ideal (i.e. really close to Waikiki beach). However, the cons may stand out more. For instance, this hotel does not change sheets daily ...

It could be a fabulous hotel if it was spruced up, patched up and painted. Otherwise, it is comfortable, clean, rooms are spaceous and most staff is friendly. Very convenient to all places of interest - the beach, restaurants, and transportation if you don't have a car.
Infested with bed bugs. I had bug bites all over my body. The rooms have coffee makers but coffee that is usually complimentary at other hotels, costs 2 dollars per packet at this hotel. Never again!!
Inexpensive and minimal, outdated but clean. It's a good choice if you want a good location for going to Waikiki---it's across the street from the beach and lots of shops, restaurants, etc. We got a beach view room, definitely worth a little extra because the room wasn't splendid but the view was. Know that if you stay in Waikiki, ...

Great price, across street from beach.

Price allows for longer stay. Teens loved being right by the beach and not worrying about being sandy from the beach. Rooms are not elegant but not dirty. Showers were clean but old! Beach sand everywhere but your on the beach and in Hawaii! Skipped the restaurant and walked down the street to ihop or denneys! Had a great time, no bugs, nothing gross just older. Staff cleaned rooms daily! Would go again with kids.

I was traveling alone for my son's wedding so was not concerned with amenities, only a place to sleep at a resonable price. What a wonderful surprise to find such a gracious and hospitable establishment as the "Queen". My room was large and comfortable and the service could not have been better. I will most assuradly stay there again and will recommend it to my friends.
the carpet was bad and had stains. the headboard and whitestand had sticky substances on them. the front desk was rund and not nice. the beds were hard as a rock. the sheets wew dirty too. i woudn't stay here again.
The pros were the cost, the location, the view. It was great to be in Hawaii.
We wanted to keep costs low. We had a very reasonable package that included the Queen. It is not "ritzy" however, it is comfortable and I felt safe. We got a can of lysol to freshen it up a bit, but I do that at all hotels. The location was right ...
Me, My Grandmother, & My Aunt visited The Queen Kapiolani Hotel on June 6th-14th. We had a wonderful stay there! We were all shocked at the reviews that we had read from other guests, but we had a great time there. If you dont mind spending a little extra money, then get an ocean view!!...Its beautiful!!!! You can see Diamond Head & the beautiful Ocean, it will be worth it!
My husband and I with 2 children went to much needed vacation this January, 2008. We liked the view from our room and everything was decent BUT at night we could not sleep. The room doesn't have solid windows -- they are a 2-inch glass blinds that do not block any noise and hotel located on a very, very busy street with a busy bus line. We ...
