  • Euro chic? No "Euro wreck"!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/31/09
I recently reserved a stay for friends at the Metro in Petaluma. After a very strange reservation process via cell with a very rude owner, everything was set. I reserved the independent house, just across the street from the hotel. The property is a total disaster. Neglected, run down, waist high weeds. The "cafe" shown on the hotel's ...

  • Great Funky Place to Stay
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/30/08
Very cool decor that completed the impression of being in a quaint French hotel, even down to current editions of Paris Match and other little touches. The antiques and furnishings made this remodeled turn of the century building feel like a seaside resort I stayed at 20 years ago on the Normandy coast. Secure and convenient to downtown, but not in ...

  • Not Just a Hotel...an Experience!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/18/08
We enjoyed our stay at the Metro! It's very funky and unconventional. It's family run so you get to go into the back offices and ask questions. The owners are helpful in guiding you around the area. The decor is original. Room is comfortalbe, bathroom clean, parking easy. I highly recommend the Metro.

  • Ghost Hotel
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/07
There is no staff in the hotel at night. The only contact is to the the owner by cell phone. As there were no telephones in rooms, even those with outside doors, it's a potentially dangerous situation, in my opinion. Room lacked individual temperature control. Although the neighborhood is quiet, the road is noisy.

  • Labor Day 06 Stay
    By Bkpeary, 09/07/06
Thought I would write comments since some of the listed reviews seem dated.
We stayed at the Metro on the Labor Day Weekend '06. We read all the old negative comments and the later positive comments. This was a great hotel for us. We search out the non traditional hotels like the Gonzo Inn in Moab or the El Rey in Santa Fe or the Hotel San ...

  • great alternative to a motel
    By A Yahoo! User, 09/05/06
This is a very comfortable small hotel, loaded with charm. My husband & I were going to a fancy event at a winery, & we didn't want to stay at a bland motel. For the same price, we got an excellent room here w/a delightfully soft bed, a flat-screen TV (that you could plug a computer or DVD player into), large bathroom w/claw-foot tub, ...

  • Look no farther!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/06
    Look no farther!

This is the place to stay! My visit to Metro Hotel couldn’t have been better. I stayed for one night in early June while on a day trip from the East Bay, but I would recommend this spot for any length stay. Sonoma and Napa are close enough for me to travel roundtrip in one day and I’ve made the trip countless times. However ...

  • The worst
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/06
Very bad experience. Filthy rooms and lots of bugs. It might be cheap, but you'd be better off staying elsewhere. Bad service too. Very negative at the front desk.

  • a refreshing retreat!
    By Samantha, 05/08/06
we simply loved the metro, and i'm stunned at the ridiculous reviews because i didn't witness any of those negative details. this place is vintage magic!
close walk to historic downtown, too. very convenient.

it is a simple hotel, but that's french style (excluding french royalty of course). we like the "come and go as you ...
