I love Tashkent but....I really love Tashkent I was born there and I miss my city but let be realistic here. I did read reviews here and let me say people are not real. Yes, it is beautiful city a lot to see and lern about Tashkent. But in my opinion Tashkent is not clean city...a lot of dast during the summer and dirt during the winter on the street. A must see city!!I have travelled extensively and Toshkent would be one of my top 3 favorites places to see. The city is very clean and the people are very friendly. English is spoken in many of the better hotels, but getting around by taxi or in restaurants can be tricky. I suggest knowing a little Russian before going. Will definitly go backI lived several years in Tashkent.
I had opportunity to compare many cities by visiting them.
My Conclusion: money doesn't matter to be happy. In Tashkent people enjoy from what they have. They are not very rich, but majority of people live moderate life style.
