the people were awesome....friendly. i found it easy to get around and a short train or car trip to great sites like the lochs, wallaces tower and more. the coast going south from ayr was breath-taking. you are also a short train ride to glasgow and and do a great day trip to ediburgh. i've all over the uk in 25 trips....this area is special!
