Abu Dhabi is a beautiful city, a quiet neighbor of the bustling Dubai. The plans for this city are also huge and a lot of happening but unlike Dubai, it is planned and much more organized. It is a small city of 900,000 residents but the Emirate of Abu Dhabi accounts for 87% of the landmass of the UAE. I am surprised that people are complaining in ...

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/06
Stayed at Sheraton Resort.
Great hotel - best we've ever stayed in. Staff can't do enough for you - but they are all Fillipino etc and paid next to nothing. Arabs blank you out.
We are hardened travellers (drink bottled water only, hot food only etc but still got Bombay Quick stepp ater two days. Now back in UK on Quinolone ...

Great place to visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/06
I visited Abu Dhabi for a month and I enjoyed every moment of it. There were a couple of things that bothered me as in the men staring not so descretly as the men in the US but...you get over that quickly. There are so many wonderful things to see and experiance. The area is so beautiful. Yes if you take a taxi they have a hard time understanding ...

It's Boring
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/10/06
Nothing to do and very very expensive. It's hot and not a place to visit in the summer. It's very clean due to the fact they have people cleaning the streets 24/7.It's just sad that they make less then .50 cents an hour.
This place is a great place if you know some locals. Even if you don't, it is still very good. It is good to know some locals because some palces are sort of, i guess-hidden. They have plenty of market that have great prices, but having good bargining and debating skill are a plus. The sights are amazing, with the abundancy of modern ...
Since I lived and worked in Abu Dhabi in the mid 1980's, I have been back on three visits and enjoyed watching the development of this island city. It is no good ex-pats and visitors bemoaning the fact that the city is not as 'good' as Dubai. - Perish the thought - one Dubai is enough! If you want Disneyland - go to Florida. Visitors ...
Abu Dhabi is a very clean and modern city. Seems that any building with less than 15 floors is condemned for something higher and more modern. Since all the labor force is foreign, it is a very interesting multicultural society - and so is the food, the market, the restaurants. Much is said about the lack of human rights, but - unlike in neighbor ...

Wonderful City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/05
I lived in Abu Dhabi for about 9 years and it was a great experience. Watch out for traffic, as the nationals think they own the road and may pull stunts like suddenly turning without signaling, doing a U-turn on a highway and other bizarre things. Lot's a neat shops to visit, check out the Armed Forces Officers Club as it is an amazing ...
