I spent 32 years of my life in Poltava ...and know all ins and outs about this town. If you are under 60, energetic, active, fun...it's kind of hard to fit in... but it's a great place to meet your 60 th birthday and stay there while enjoying the nature, quietness, safeties and just breathing deeply and relax...:) Hi Poltava, and hope to see you soon:) Sasha

I went to Poltava almost by accident while traveling in Ukraine. It i absolutelly sunning little city. It is very European, clean, well mannered and charming. Food is great and people are really nice. And the women - everything they say about Ukrainian beuties is true! If you are in Eastern Europe, don't miss this one.
If you are in Kyiv or Kharkiv then it's worth your time to spend a couple days in Poltava. Poltava center is filled with attractions and shops and not blighted by giant concrete buildings like so many ex-soviet countries.

I like Poltava! It is maybe not the biggest city in Ukraine, but it is quite nice there. Very beautiful :) It's a high growing city and I believe that it will be a much more developed city soon. But its totally worth a visit. Great history sights!

poltava is a small town, hotels are not up to the level, restaurants are awful, it's dead after 11 p.m. except for discos, racism people, not cultured, bad transportation, hard to find english speakrs on streets, there is alot more than what i mentioned
