I notice that a former reviewer talked about travelling to Dnepropetrovsk via Vienna and Kiev. It's worth noting that Austrian Airways offer a very good daily service to and from Dnepropetrovsk via Vienna. The service arrives around 14:00 each day and the return flight leaves around 15:00.
Certainly more convenient than going via Kiev as internal flights are difficult to book over the internet.

Great people, great place

I travelled to Dnipro to follow my football team in the UEFA Cup - Hibernian from Edinburgh - and we had a fantastic time in the City. There were around 1000 Hibs supporters who had made the long trip east, flying London to Vienna, onto Kiev, and then an overnight train to Dnipro - the welcome we received was magnificent. Worth the trip !

We visited in 2000 for 4 weeks and had an excellent experience. The city evokes memories of the critical struggles of the Great War. It is certainly a frontier city by western standards and provides excitement well beyond the needs of most. Culturally, it is authentic eastern Europe. A healthy mix of Russian and Ukrainian citizens gives the city a progressive feel. Do visit in the spring and summer.
