My wife and I took a trip to St. Thomas and this was her first time there. We did everything possible on the Island from going to Mountain Top, swimming at Megans Bay Beach to eating lunch at Duffy's Love Shack. We both loved the atmosphere and the people. I have lived on the island before but this was my wife's first time there. Now we ...
I lived in Charlotte Amalie in 1994-95 and was truly in love with the atmosphere of the whole island.
If you are going to St. Thomas, you must take a ferry ride over to St.John to snorkel the National Park there, and soak up some of the quieter energy. The Hiking is great ad they have a tent hotel there as well that is affordable and ...
We've been to St Thomas four times, twice by cruise ship and twice we stayed on the island. I've found the locals to be friendly and outgoing. Just watch out for the street vendors who offer something (such as taking your picture) because they will most often insist you pay after the fact.
For Americans St Thomas is an easy, comfortable ...
Charlotte Amalie was very beautiful. The water was that pretty Caribbean blue color. We took a catamaran sail and snorkel tour to Buck Island. We saw alot of colorful fish, especially a small shark that my husband touch his tail. Shopping expedition was a bit pricey. But it was wealth worth the trip.
Really liked staying here. Loved the Frenchmans Reef hotel. Came into town only one day and got quite a few bargains. From carribbean rum cake, post cards, coconut and banana rum and assorted trinkets. Charlotte Amalie is a maze of shops and side streets. We found it hard to find places and the hills are quite steep to walk up. The beach at the ...

St Thomas is beautiful. The people were very nice and helpful; unlike St Marteen (the friendly place???). Got to watch the "cabs"; took $4 to go to Megans Bay and $8 (per person) for return. Gotcha!

Forget the town, head to Meagan's Bay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/06
The marina area is absolutely beautiful, though you need to get a taxi up to the top of the town and pull over to see it properly.
As for Charlotte Amalie itself, unless you're into shopping for bling I'd give it a miss, not much for the non-rock types.
GO TO MEAGAN's, it is absolutely positively the most beautiful site around, you can just sit there for hours watching the waves and there's no rocks just fine sand.
We enjoyed it but...... We made the mistake of going from our Resort to downtown on the day that there were 7 cruise ships in port. Not too smart. Everything was wall to wall people. The only way we found a table for lunch was due to the kindness of another couple who allowed us to share their table. We like the city and its people. While we ...

I can't wait to go back

I loved St. Thomas!! The atmosphere was great, the nightlife never stops, the beaches are beautiful. There's so much to do there. I stayed for seven days and still didn't do half the things there are to do. I went sightseeing, shopping, swimming and even took the ferry over to St. John a couple of days. It was great! I recommend it for anyone of any age!
