During our stay in Taiwan, we rented a car in Kaohsiung so we could drive down to Kenting as well. There are quite a few rental car companies which have branches in Kaohsiung, and I just wanted to list a few that I found were helpful, and ones to stay away from:

I loved it. I stayed with my sister, rode with her on her scooter and got the experience. Everybody was really ready to help even if they didn't speak English. The night markets were good. Monkey Mountain was also fun.

i like this city basically, becise the weather(too hot) and the traffic.the river and habor are beautiful, the most interesting place is the "City Spotlingt", Hansin Departmentstore is abundant.
