Overall. it was great.... dont miss the Swiss Miniature park which is near by - Melid.

Lugano is a nice, small and very quiet place with Mediterranean flair. Located at the beautiful Lake Lugano, surrounded by several mountains, close to the Italian border. The natives told me that Lugano is known as the most Italian city of Switzerland. Most people speak Italian and quiet a few know German or English. The Old town has lots of decent shops, restaurants and shopping malls to offer.

I stayed in the Hotel Splendide Royal...an excellent hotel within walking distance to the center of the city.
The people are very friendly and although I spoke Italian, some people spoke english, but not the majority.
The shopping is decent, with D&G, Louis Vuitton, etc.
The food is good and there is a small shopping mall with anything ...

Lugano has everything one looks for when on vacation. Beautiful view is a small, old-modern town, good restaurants, friendly people, great shops, quietness.
I do recommend this place for anyone, from 8 up to 80 years old.
