having spent a few nights there, I can say Basel was a very nice place to stay. very friendly people and always soething to do. As people may have mentioned, Switzerland is in itself quite an expensive place, so be prepared to maybe spend a bit more than usual. Overall, very good experience, good nightlife, shops. Would probably go back again and tour the rest of Switzerland.

Extensive trolley/bus system makes getting around very easy. Strongly suggest getting to Basel by train (we didn't) because parking is a real problem.

Lots of people walking around the town (and this was in November) and shopping, if you like to be in a happening place.

There are a number of centrally located, inexpensive hotels at which to stay. Great weekend getaway.

Basel is a very interesting city to visit. Situated on the river Rhine, bordering France and Germany with an extensive public transportation network. It is one of the most important cultural cities in Europe and has alot of old houses, quiet corners, fountains and interesting walks along the river or around the old town to offer. You can also take a taxi ride on one of the Rhytaxi boats on the river Rhine...

Basel has a great nightlife. There were plenty of bars and clubs to go to. You could hang out next to the river and enjoy the view or meet plenty of girls at the clubs. The people were friendly and travel is easy by foot or tram. Def. a great place to check out!

Hi, I spent ten days in Basel for a specific purpose. Although I could not see none of attractives but during my stay all people were very friendly and tried to help me specially Dr. BAXAS and her staffs.
I wish I could travell again to Basel with my family.

Switserland was nice, Loved the ALPS, It is nice and clean, close to nearby country's, went to france and germany in one day

Switzerland is a lovely country specialy "Basel" is lovely city i have ever met.calm ,full of peace & joy,with a beutifull view ,good restaurant,
i think it can be a good start and good end for one trip.
& also it can be your best choice!!!!
