  • Go to Marigot
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/07
Marigot is like a little slice of France. We love it. Our 4 grown children met us there, and we all had a wonderful time. Very helpful to speak a little French, but that's part of the fun! The beaches are magnificent - secluded in some places and full and active in others. The food and shopping in Marigot is great! Go there!

  • One day was enough
    By sean, 01/05/07
If you are one who likes to spend their entire vacation in one resort location or on the beach, then I am sure this place would be great. However, you can explore the whole island in a day and there is not a whole lot to it. If you like to do many different things on vacation, then take a cruise and just hit this spot in a one day stop.

The beaches are beautiful though. And some famous people have some beautiful homes here.

  • always packed for this destination
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/05
The hotel and its staff were outstanding...helpful,courteous and always friendly.Had stayed there in 1999 for one night and just had to go back this summer for a week to see the Marigot area. There was no hesitation about our hotel choice. Beachfront, freshwater pool on beach, full American breakfast and only 1 1/2 blocks from ferry terminal to ...

  • Stay on the French side!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/05
My husband and I went here for our honeymoon last spring, and stayed on the French side, but drove all over the island in our rental car. The French side has all the best restaurants and is much better taken care of than the Dutch side. The people on the Dutch side drove us crazy trying to get us to go in their stores and buy things from them. ...

  • The best island I 've ever been to!
    By Kate, 08/12/05
St. Martin is one of teh most laid back places on earth! You can enjoy the beautiful scenery, the mouth-watering food, and the friendly island people. my advice, rent a car and explore the whole island-you'll stumble across secluded beaches, parades in the street, and cafe's on the sidewalk.
