I stayed for two weeks in Nerja and studied at the language institute there. I lived with a local family, and the whole experience was absolutely amazing. There are so many wonderful places to go like las cuevas de Nerja (the caves) where they have a yearly opera inside of them. There are lots of little pizza shops and the bar district Tutti frutti ...

Pretty good for Costa de Sol

Nerja has a small town feel to it. It has some great cafes and pubs. There is an Irish pub that is great and not hard to find. Plus the Itallian restuarant El Gato Negro is outstanding.
However, beware of the red faced northern europeans that vacation there. They stay out on the beach all day in there speedos and wonder the streets sun burned. ...

Holidays in Nerja, Malaga in Spain's Costa del Sol

I moved to Nerja from the UK 18-months ago and would recommend it to anyone looking to experience more of the 'real Spain' and less of the 'highrise concrete Spain'.
