I really enjoyed this place! I liked the stores,food,and culture. I also looked around the Guggenheim museum. I didn't go in but,just by looking outside I knew it was a great place. The city is not crowded and has beautiful streets. The buildings and houses were fantastic.

The things I did not like so much, were that everyone spoke Spanish and smoked.

Parents should take their children to this city. ENJOY BILBAO!

A beautiful city, and friendly people. The public transportation was phenomenal, and the Bilbao Metro is truly magnificent. For an experience of Spanish food and traditions, you have to go to the tapas cafe, ask for a caña (beer), and jamon serrano.
Visit the look out over Bilbao, a funicular (cable car) takes you to the top in about 5 minutes ...

I loved Bilboa. My impression was greatly influenced by the Guggenheim, however. I felt like I could immerse myself in the Basque culture here as opposed to being surrounded by snooty tourists. The only tourists I saw were around the museum itself. Going out late at night in the old town area, eating in a quiet neighborhood. It was a very low-key place but was definately worth it for me.

I used to live in Bilbao and the surrounding area four years ago. The area has great public transportation; fantastic traditional Basque restaurants; fun bars; nice beaches; and some of the friendliest people in the world. This is a must see city!

great walking city-some wonderful restaurants and hotel service convenient, pleasant, and not too expensive. Airport lovely and service to many other areas. Public transportation one of the best I have ever experienced.
